Affogato Brand Design Creates Poco a Poco with a Bold Venezuelan Identity

Street food is more than what is served—it’s the atmosphere, the people, the colours, the music, and the culture that surrounds every bite. When creating the identity for Poco a Poco, a Venezuelan street food truck, Affogato Brand Design looked beyond the cuisine to capture the country’s vibrant spirit in a contemporary visual language.

The identity is rooted in the bold geometric language of indigenous Venezuelan woven textiles, where repeating forms, rhythm, and craftsmanship create instantly recognisable visual patterns. Rather than replicating these references literally, the studio reinterpreted them into a modern graphic system that becomes the foundation of the brand. These patterns flow across packaging, wraps, uniforms, merchandise, and the food truck itself, creating a cohesive identity that feels energetic, expressive, and unmistakably Venezuelan.

The custom wordmark balances heritage with modernity. Its condensed, architectural letterforms echo the confidence of traditional Latin American signage while introducing contemporary proportions that give the brand a distinctive ownable presence. Designed to remain highly legible across every touchpoint, the logo acts as a bold anchor within an otherwise expressive visual ecosystem.

Colour became another defining element of the identity. Inspired by Venezuela’s colourful architecture, traditional clothing, tropical produce, and lively street culture, the palette embraces saturated blues, yellows, reds, greens, and purples to create a brand that radiates warmth and optimism. Every colour pairing was chosen to evoke celebration, ensuring the identity feels as vibrant as the experience of gathering around authentic Venezuelan food.

Illustration plays an equally important role in shaping the brand. Instead of depicting individual menu items, Affogato developed a collection of symbolic elements inspired by Venezuelan culture—tropical fruits, hummingbirds, flowers, corn, expressive lips, geometric motifs, and organic forms. Layered together, these elements create bold compositions that communicate abundance, movement, and joy, transforming every application into a celebration of the country’s visual identity rather than simply a food brand.

From the first interaction with the truck to the packaging held in hand, every touchpoint was designed to immerse customers in the warmth and hospitality that define Venezuelan street culture. The result is an identity that goes beyond branding a food truck—it creates a cultural experience where colour, pattern, typography, and illustration come together to celebrate a country known for its vibrancy, community, and love of sharing food, poco a poco.
