Pommes de terre grenailles | Delhaize

As part of my studies, this project met a major challenge: to create sustainable, glue-free, 100% recyclable and home-compostable packaging to replace the conventional packaging used at Delhaize. 

I worked using auxetics, a technique that allows the paper to expand naturally while reinforcing the structure of the packaging.

After several trials, I found a shape that guaranteed solidity, natural ventilation and secure closure.

The graphic design is based on typographic work using flex design for the rounded letters and “O” shapes. The shapes used evoke the different ways of cutting potatoes (slices, wedges…).

• Imposed dominant color : green
• Compostable paper designed for subsequent use as mulch
• Flex design integrated into shapes and typography

A simple, eco-designed solution designed to reduce environmental impact while offering a new user experience.
