Fantastic Fungi

Did you know that mycelium, the roots of mushrooms, can replace plastic in packaging?

This project was carried out in 2023 as part of my course, inspired by Fantastic Fungi, an existing brand offering natural alicaments made from medicinal mushrooms.

The challenge: to rethink the complete packaging for three of their ranges, creating:

• A flexible pouch for microdose soft chews

• A rigid, eco-designed mycelium box to protect and display them on the shelves.

We had to apply the principles of flex design to create a coherent visual identity.

The 3 ranges:

• Maitake: mental clarity, mood, immunity

• Cordyceps: energy, stamina, adaptogen

• Tremella: beauty, healthy skin, memory

A project blending nature, science, symbolism and graphic design.
