La Confesión – Botanical Absinthe Packaging
La Confesión is a premium botanical absinthe identity built around the tension between devotion and instinct. The project reinterprets the traditional absinthe ritual through a darker, ceremonial visual language inspired by sacred iconography, botanical engravings, and archival objects.
At the centre of the label is a solemn nun whose praying hands transform into the forelegs of a praying mantis. The illustration creates a symbolic contrast between faith, restraint, and concealed predatory instinct, giving the packaging an unsettling duality that rewards a closer look.
Grand wormwood, green anise, lemon balm and other botanical references are represented through detailed engraved illustrations. These elements are combined with classical typography, antique-gold accents and a restrained palette of parchment, ink black and botanical olive.
The tactile packaging system includes a fibrous, uncoated paper label with irregular edges, a black wax neck wrap and an embossed Chi-Rho medallion.
The traditional absinthe preparation also becomes part of the brand narrative. As chilled water passes slowly over a sugar cube, the clear botanical spirit transforms into a pale, opalescent louche. This gradual transformation reflects the central idea of La Confesión: a restrained exterior slowly revealing something more complex, instinctive and mysterious.
